Role Overview

The Host at Gator's Dockside ensures every aspect of the guest experience is handled from the moment guests enter until their departure. This role requires thorough understanding and implementation of provided training materials to optimize guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet incoming guests and open doors where possible.
• Manage seating assignments fairly by following the seating rotation chart.
• Politely and accurately answer phone calls and process takeout orders using the restaurant's computer system.
• Verify order accuracy upon delivery and address any discrepancies promptly.
• Engage respectfully with guests, coworkers, and management to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Assist in training new hosts and support staff members.
• Handle cash transactions, credit cards, traveler’s checks, and change responsibly, ensuring accurate accounting at shift end and proper tip declaration.
• Report guest issues immediately to management and endeavor to resolve concerns effectively.
• Prepare drinks and desserts, serve food, clear and pre-clear tables, roll silverware, and clean menus as needed.
• Provide support in food preparation and dishwashing upon management's request.
• Maintain a valid food safety certification continuously.
• Adhere strictly to all employee policies including those in the employee handbook and corporate guidelines.
• Participate actively in maintaining cleanliness of all common areas such as restrooms, dining and kitchen floors, walls, shelves, sidewalks, windows, doors, equipment, tables, chairs, and cabinets.
• Uphold high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

Additional Information

This position requires dependable cash management, proactive guest service, teamwork, and compliance with health and safety standards. Hosts may be tasked with multiple duties to support seamless restaurant operations.
