Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to be one of our inaugural technical team members, contributing to the direction and architecture of our platform. This role involves making critical product decisions, solving complex technical challenges, and shaping the engineering culture. There is a defined opportunity for career advancement toward Head of Engineering or CTO.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, robust web applications from the ground up.
• Create modern, user-friendly frontend experiences catering to parents, educators, and school administrators.
• Develop secure, efficient backend APIs and services.
• Strategize and manage cloud infrastructure deployments.
• Integrate with diverse systems including Student Information Systems, CRMs, authentication services, and external APIs.
• Architect scalable and resilient databases.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization frameworks such as OAuth, JWT, and SSO.
• Develop real-time functionalities and notification mechanisms.
• Maintain high standards regarding performance, security, and reliability.
• Establish and propagate engineering best practices and standards within the team.
• Collaborate with founders on product strategy and roadmap.
• Play an active role in expanding the engineering team, including mentoring, structuring, and recruitment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Proven history of delivering production-scale SaaS solutions.
• Experience designing systems from inception with a solid grasp of distributed system architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to assume complete product ownership.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with full stack development including modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js).
• Expertise building scalable backend systems using Node.js.
• Experience with relational and in-memory database design and optimization.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, preferably on AWS.
• Strong background in integrating third-party and enterprise APIs, including Microsoft 365/Education, Google Workspace for Education, Google Classroom, iSAMS, and other SIS, MIS, LMS or school management platforms.
• Competence implementing authentication protocols such as OAuth and SSO.
• Experience developing real-time web features and notification systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and mobile API development is advantageous.

• Background in machine learning applications.
• Prior experience in EdTech environments.
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture development.
• Handling sensitive data with awareness of regulatory compliance.
• Creating analytics and dashboard interfaces.

• Scaling products to large user bases (100,000+ users).
• Familiarity with UAE or international education sectors.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Strong expertise in system design principles.
