Role Overview

We are seeking a Mobile Plant Operator to assist with restoring Puketutu Island and managing biosolids placement. The core responsibilities involve operating a large tractor with three side-tipping trailers and a wheel loader. Experience with equipment such as excavators and trucks is an asset.

The role is integrated within a small, collaborative team and includes machine inspections, preventative maintenance, and manual labor like building and maintaining cell walls and operational sites. A strong commitment to health and safety is vital. The position generally follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 6:30am to 3:30pm, though weekend and public holiday work may be necessary.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years experience in settings such as construction, quarrying, earthworks, or landfill operations. Comfort with heavy machinery operation, teamwork, and eagerness to enhance skills is expected.

Qualifications and Skills

• Class 2 driver's licence or higher with WTR endorsements preferred; full Class 1 licence holders will also be considered.
• Background in construction sites, quarries, landfills, or equivalent environments.
• Proactive and practical mindset with readiness to support team efforts.
• Good physical condition for both machine operation and manual duties.
