Currently, Watercare is embarking on an ambitious 10-year plan investing $14 billion to support Auckland’s infrastructure in a resilient and sustainable manner, with an average daily investment of approximately $3.8 million.
About the Role
We are seeking a Compliance Inspector to join our Developer Services team. This position offers a dynamic work environment balancing time between our Newmarket office and various onsite locations. Your responsibilities will include engaging directly with the construction industry onsite by conducting compliance inspections, facilitating pre-construction meetings, audits, and final inspections to support the approval and commissioning of public assets. Additionally, you will perform Works Over inspections to verify compliance when work is performed over or near existing Watercare infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
You will be a key connector, effectively bridging communication and coordination among stakeholders, ensuring progress and adherence to compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A technical qualification in engineering or an equivalent trade certificate.
- Between 5 to 10 years of experience in an engineering or construction role.
- Site supervision and construction experience; experience in the water/wastewater sector is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities, comfortable engaging with a variety of customers and stakeholders.
- A valid full driver’s license.
