Role Overview

The EV Charging Technical Lead will oversee the management and technical integrity of Al-Futtaim's electric vehicle charging infrastructure (including home and fast chargers) throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role combines hands-on field work, contractor supervision, and rigorous technical documentation to ensure that all Charge2Moov network chargers are installed, commissioned, and maintained according to OEM and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer issues with AC home chargers and DC fast chargers across assigned locations in KSA.
• Conduct on-site diagnosis, repairs, and corrective maintenance to ensure charger functionality within established service level agreements.
• Implement software updates, firmware upgrades, and configuration changes on AC chargers.
• Perform Level 1 troubleshooting and maintenance on DC fast chargers in adherence to OEM protocols.
• Support commissioning and testing of newly installed chargers, approving only after thorough validation against criteria.
• Carry out detailed technical site surveys and assessments before DC charger installations.
• Arrange and supervise contractor activities for charger installations, ensuring coordination and compliance across electrical, civil, and networking disciplines.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards from Saudi Electricity (SE), SASO regulations, and MOMRAH requirements, raising and tracking resolution of any non-conformities.
• Produce and maintain detailed reports including installation progress, commissioning status, fault logs, maintenance records, and contractor performance dashboards.
• Serve as the main technical contact bridging internal teams and field contractors, facilitating smooth communication and timely issue resolution.
• Provide technical expertise for procurement processes, including bill of materials and contractor evaluations.
• Represent EV Charging Engineering in client meetings, site inspections, and regulatory engagements.

Candidate Profile

• Proven expertise in diagnosing and maintaining AC and DC EV charging hardware.
• Strong knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical safety protocols and installation practices.
• Analytical problem solver with structured approach to identifying root causes.
• Effective communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder coordination.
• Track record of supervising contractors and maintaining quality standards on multi-site projects.
• Capable of self-directed work across multiple sites with a disciplined reporting approach.
• Ability to work under pressure with flexible hours and readiness to travel extensively within KSA.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Power Systems, or related technical fields.
• Three to six years of progressive hands-on experience with EV charging systems, electrical infrastructure, or power distribution.
• Experience working with charger hardware from OEMs such as Siemens, Wallbox, ABB, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in overseeing contractors during installation programs.
• Familiarity with Saudi Energy utility standards, SASO product regulations, and MOMRAH EV mandates.
• Basic networking knowledge relevant to connected charger infrastructure.
• Professional certifications in EV charging, power electronics, or electrical safety are highly advantageous.
• Valid KSA driving license with willingness to operate primarily in the field across the Kingdom.
• Fluent English is required; proficiency in Arabic is beneficial for contractor and regulatory interactions.
