Data Governance Engineer

Overview

We are searching for a seasoned Data Governance professional with over 7 years of experience to spearhead initiatives in data governance and metadata management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and enhancement of the Open Metadata platform.
• Establish and uphold data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Drive initiatives related to data lineage, quality, and cataloging.
• Integrate metadata management tools with databases, ETL workflows, and business intelligence platforms.
• Promote data discovery and encourage adoption of governance practices across organizational units.
• Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience with Open Metadata and data catalog tools.
• Thorough knowledge of data governance structures and industry best practices.
• Practical skills in SQL, data modeling, and ETL process management.
• Understanding of data lineage, metadata handling, and frameworks for data quality assurance.
• Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong communication abilities and competence in managing stakeholder relationships.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with Collibra, Immuta, or Attacama platforms.
• Awareness of data privacy regulations including GDPR.
