Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team comprised of senior engineers and AI experts, nurturing a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
- Manage team performance including setting objectives, conducting feedback sessions, fostering career growth, and planning talent needs.
- Ensure outstanding delivery across numerous forward-deployed customer projects, meeting agreed outcomes and success criteria.
Key Deliverables
- Direct a team of senior engineers, data scientists, and AI specialists embedded within SAP’s top-tier customer settings, balancing leadership and technical strategy.
- Define technical strategies and architectural guidelines collaboratively with experts and technical leads.
- Serve as top escalation point for project risks, team challenges, and client concerns, resolving them promptly and decisively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients and SAP leadership to support team needs and resource acquisition.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard high-caliber engineering talent across AI, data, and software disciplines.
- Work closely with product, marketing, and regional leadership to align team capabilities with strategic objectives and client requirements.
- Foster engineering excellence, advocate responsible AI practices, and promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing senior engineering teams with high performance and inclusivity.
- Strong technical expertise in AI, machine learning, data engineering, or software engineering with credibility to lead technical direction.
- Experienced in forward-deployed or customer-embedded delivery and managing complex, high-stakes engagements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strategic vision and accountability for hands-on delivery.
- Skilled in talent development, navigating organizational complexity, and harmonizing cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
- Experience working in Agentic AI environments and shaping AI agents’ application within teams and clients.
- History of successfully scaling engineering teams internationally, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Superior communication and influencing capabilities with engineers, executives, and customers.
- Familiarity with SAP AI technologies and enterprise AI deployments is an added advantage.
