Job description

About the Role

This role involves being an essential member of the pharmacy team in store, assisting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective delivery of pharmacy and health services. You will engage with patients by understanding their health needs, dispensing prescriptions, and advising on medicines to support informed health decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispensing prescriptions and ensuring the safe provision of medicines, including medicine ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collection handling.
  • Collaborating with store healthcare professionals to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  • Providing medicine-related care and advice to patients, referring to the pharmacist as needed.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safe and lawful dispensing.
  • Staying updated on new store innovations and following operational guidelines.
  • Helping patients manage their prescriptions, encouraging adherence, and reducing medicine waste.
  • Utilizing evolving technologies to enhance dispensing processes, improve patient safety, and allocate more time to patient interactions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification or equivalent, or progressing through the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Possession of valid UK right to work; this role does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
  • Experience in community pharmacy is advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Information

This position is based in-store within the UK and is not open to remote candidates. Applicants must provide evidence of relevant UK qualifications and legal right to work. Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks such as DBS, PVG, or Access NI depending on location.
