About the Role
We are seeking a committed Dispenser to join our pharmacy team in store. You will play a vital role supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of pharmacy services. This position involves building strong relationships with patients, understanding their health needs, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and advising customers on medicines to help them make informed health decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescriptions including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collecting medications while ensuring safety standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare colleagues within the store to manage and deliver pharmacy services effectively.
- Offer guidance and support to patients regarding medications and refer to the pharmacist when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain safe, lawful dispensing practices.
- Stay informed about innovations and operational changes within the store.
- Assist patients in managing their prescriptions efficiently, promoting adherence and minimizing medication waste.
- Engage with emerging technologies designed to enhance dispensing processes and improve patient safety, freeing time to support patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or having passed the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work is mandatory; note that this position does not sponsor Skilled Worker Visas.
- Experience in community pharmacy is an advantage.
