The Senior Engineer position within the Infra-Platform team plays a pivotal role in supporting the foundation that allows Fin’s product teams to innovate without infrastructure concerns. This team focuses on automation, reliability, observability, and secure deployments, leveraging AI as an integral element throughout its engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate repetitive infrastructure tasks to accelerate R&D efficiency.
• Lead the design and implementation of major architectural improvements for Fin’s core infrastructure, addressing scalability and elasticity.
• Ensure operational excellence by owning core service reliability and developing permanent solutions to prevent incidents.
• Investigate issues across full stack layers, from infrastructure to application code, ensuring optimal customer experiences.
• Enable product engineers by abstracting security, availability, cost considerations, and providing user-friendly tools and documentation.
• Foster a culture of accountability and knowledge sharing through rapid code reviews and support.
• Independently manage complex infrastructure projects, including design, implementation, testing, and operational documentation.
• Utilize AI-driven tools and coding agents to automate infrastructure work and empower peers to do the same safely.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms, preferably AWS, with a focus on availability and cost management.
• Strong software engineering skills with knowledge of modern programming languages; familiarity with infrastructure-as-code is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of system reliability, performance metrics, failure modes, and telemetry-driven decision-making.
• Empathy for developer experience, aiming to minimize friction for internal teams.
• Proven ability to independently drive technical initiatives from concept through production.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation and collaboration in asynchronous and fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated use of AI technologies to accelerate engineering workflows, automate tasks, and safely extend AI leverage organization-wide.
