About the Role
Transport for NSW is seeking a skilled Finishing Grader Operator to join their team based in Bega, NSW. This full-time, permanent position involves operating graders for road construction and maintenance projects across the region. You will be responsible for precise finishing work, ensuring all tasks meet exacting quality standards, completed safely and efficiently.
Key Duties
- Operate graders for levelling, trimming, and finishing road pavements.
- Ensure road pavements are finished within strict tolerances and specifications.
- Support various road construction and maintenance activities across multiple projects.
- Carry out pre-start inspections and maintain equipment in safe working order.
- Collaborate closely with a team of 8-10 crew members to achieve project goals.
- Adhere to all workplace safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in operating graders with a focus on detailed finishing work on road surfaces.
- Strong skills in road levelling and trimming within construction and maintenance settings.
- Proficient literacy and numeracy skills to accurately complete records and communicate within the team.
- Holds a current unrestricted Australian C Class Driver's Licence and a valid Construction Industry White Card.
- Willingness to undertake any required legislative or internal training, licenses, or tickets as necessary.
- Able to work a 38-hour week on a 9-day fortnight schedule, with flexibility to work outside regular hours and travel extensively within the region.
- Residing within 75 kilometers driving distance from Bega Depot is mandatory due to safety and fatigue management policies.
