Maintenance Coordinator

Job Overview

Mdn Freight Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Coordinator to join our expanding trucking operation. This role involves managing and coordinating truck and trailer repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and roadside support to reduce equipment downtime effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

• Organize repairs for trucks and trailers, coordinating between drivers, vendors, and repair shops.
• Plan and schedule routine preventive maintenance and mandatory inspections.
• Keep track of ongoing repair orders, ensuring timely completion through follow-ups.
• Examine repair cost estimates and secure approval from management before proceeding.
• Maintain thorough records of maintenance activities, invoices, and equipment documentation.
• Monitor vehicle downtime and update dispatch and management regarding repair progress.
• Arrange roadside assistance and handle emergency repair situations promptly.
• Observe equipment conditions to detect repeat mechanical problems for quicker resolution.
• Ensure fleet compliance with DOT maintenance regulations for both tractors and trailers.
• Utilize Fleetio and other fleet-management systems to record and manage maintenance tasks accurately.

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferably have experience in trucking, fleet maintenance, or transportation operations.
• Possess basic knowledge of commercial trucks and trailers.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational abilities, with strong follow-up capabilities.
• Capable of managing multiple repairs and priorities effectively in a dynamic setting.
• Comfortable interacting with drivers, mechanics, dealerships, and suppliers.
• Proficient in computers, especially spreadsheets and fleet management software.
• Fluent in English.
