Senior GIS Solution Engineer - Infrastructure

Overview

We are seeking a Senior GIS Solution Engineer specialized in infrastructure to join our global business development team. In this role, you will serve as a GIS subject matter expert, identifying optimal analytical tools to address complex challenges. You will create innovative GIS solutions and effectively communicate their value to excite stakeholders about GIS technology capabilities. Your expertise will help customers and partners leverage ArcGIS to uncover unique patterns, trends, and insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships by presenting, demonstrating, and supporting Esri software and solutions within account teams.
• Engage with senior technical decision-makers and lead technical discussions that influence revenue growth.
• Act as a technical leader in Esri technologies and a subject matter expert in utilities such as water, electric, gas, or telecommunications.
• Apply deep understanding of sales strategies and create complex solutions for strategic enterprise clients.
• Analyze organizational business structures, workflows, third-party systems, and integration points to design effective GIS-based solutions.
• Coach and mentor new team members on industry best practices and technical skills.
• Proactively design and propose GIS solutions that address critical business challenges and demonstrate tangible business value.
• Create tailored presentations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences, including large conferences and executive meetings.
• Provide configuration guidance and share best practices for Esri products.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with Esri technologies involving mapping, spatial analysis, and web application configuration.
• At least 3 years of experience in sectors such as water, electric, gas, or telecommunications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT infrastructure perspective, including hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing.
• Proven track record in technical consulting and conceptual GIS solution design.
• Familiarity with sales processes and business development activities.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for client issues related to Esri application deployments and system architectures.
• Experience working with geodatabases and database management systems.
• Understanding of cloud computing environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Ability to integrate GIS software with other enterprise systems like data warehouses, business intelligence, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.
• Programming proficiency in scripting languages including Python and JavaScript.
• Exceptional communication skills encompassing presentations, interpersonal interactions, and active listening.
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally 25-50% of the time.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience integrating real-time data streams into existing GIS and IT infrastructures.
• Familiarity with digital transformation strategies involving mobile technologies, IoT, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and imagery analysis.
• Experience managing enterprise GIS system administration.
• Master’s degree in geography, computer science, or related areas.
