Role Overview
The Manager of Payroll Operations for the APAC region will lead and execute payroll processes within the Global Payroll Operations team, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll management. This full-time, remote role based in Australia/New Zealand requires leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight of payroll functions in various countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide mentorship to the Payroll team, fostering growth without micromanagement.
- Own the end-to-end payroll process ensuring compliance with country-specific regulations and timely disbursements.
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external payroll vendors or service providers.
- Stay informed and updated on international payroll laws and regulations impacting operations.
- Manage relationships with payroll, accounting, and third-party payroll service providers.
- Develop and implement best practices, including KPIs and SLAs to optimize payroll operations.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Significant experience in managing regional or global payroll operations with knowledge of best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to implement payroll systems across multiple countries.
- Proficient with payroll software and tools including SAP and spreadsheet software (Excel/Google Sheets).
- Strong analytical skills paired with problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective in a fast-moving international environment with a drive for impact and productivity improvements.
- Comfortable working asynchronously and fluent in English; remote work experience desirable but not mandatory.
Additional Details
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Payroll Operations and supports the Payroll Operations team. The start date is flexible but as early as possible is preferred. The role includes undergoing multiple interview stages and verification processes.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range in USD is from 46,500 to 104,650 per year, varying by location, experience, and skills.
