Job description

Position Overview

Join our manufacturing team as a skilled CNC Programmer / Setter. This role requires hands-on technical expertise to maximize CNC machinery performance, tackle machining challenges, and innovate more efficient methods to produce high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC programs utilizing Autodesk PowerMill and machine control systems.
  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers and lathes proficiently.
  • Create machining strategies aimed at enhancing cycle times, tooling efficiency, and machine use.
  • Design and improve fixtures and workholding solutions.
  • Conduct program verification, initial production inspections, and ongoing process enhancements.
  • Diagnose and resolve machining and quality-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and knowledge-sharing with CNC operators.
  • Collaborate across Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to boost capability and productivity.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in CNC programming and machine setting.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Good understanding of tooling, feed rates, speeds, and machining techniques.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a technical and quality-conscious mindset.
  • Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience with PowerMill, Fanuc, Mazak, DMG Mori machinery, aluminium machining, multi-axis machining, or macro programming is highly advantageous.
  • A trade qualification in Engineering, Fitting & Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or Toolmaking is preferred.
