Role Summary

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a crucial member of the Sales team responsible for fueling the company’s growth by generating qualified sales opportunities. The BDR acts as the initial contact point for potential enterprise clients, engaging them via multi-channel outreach strategies across inbound and outbound leads. The role involves qualifying incoming marketing-generated leads, prospecting new potential customers, and establishing strong relationships with senior decision-makers. The primary goal is to educate ideal customer profiles (ICPs) on how Storyblok solves their challenges, convert prospects into sales-qualified leads, and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use modern sales tools and tech stack to identify, generate, and qualify inbound and outbound leads.
  • Conduct high-volume outreach via calls, emails, and social media to develop strong sales opportunities for Account Executives.
  • Participate in marketing events and industry conferences to network and build rapport with prospects.
  • Foster long-term relationships that help mid-market and large enterprises appreciate Storyblok’s value.
  • Devise innovative prospecting strategies to acquire new customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to align on pipeline generation tactics.
  • Consistently surpass monthly and quarterly sales key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Be based ideally in the United Kingdom or Ireland and be prepared for approximately 20% travel within the region as well as occasional travel for team retreats abroad.

Candidate Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in outbound sales, with a preference for software industry experience.
  • Technical background or familiarity with SaaS, especially content management systems, is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and generate new leads.
  • Excellent cold calling skills, including handling objections and setting appointments by phone.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience with outbound sales tactics and various sales technology solutions.
  • Highly accountable, goal-oriented, and motivated to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Self-driven and comfortable working autonomously in a remote setting.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and quality of output while applying critical thinking and sound judgment.

Compensation and Work Conditions

Storyblok is committed to fair and transparent remuneration. Salaries are aligned with the role’s requirements, skill levels, experience, and market benchmarks. The specified salary range reflects US base pay targets, and certain roles include lucrative commission plans.

Work is primarily remote with optional funded co-working spaces available.
