Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to become a crucial part of the JET Honey Badgers team, a dynamic and focused stream-aligned group. The team's mission is to rapidly advance critical product goals, delivering impactful solutions efficiently and ensuring smooth transitions of new capabilities to platform teams.

This position focuses on enhancing Just Eat Takeaway's marketing and communication tools within the customer experience domain. You will influence how we engage and serve our users directly.

As a member of this collaborative team, you will participate in all phases of the software lifecycle from initial concept, design, implementation, through to deployment. This role has significant scope to apply your strong .NET development expertise, lead backend delivery initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to transform business requirements into robust, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high-quality software that meets team standards and best practices, supporting your code through testing and production stability.
• Develop new features adhering to established code-quality guidelines; elevate overall team quality via pairing, peer review, and knowledge sharing.
• Engage in feature definition workshops alongside fellow engineers and Product Managers to shape product development.
• Promote new development methodologies, design patterns, and standards within the team.
• Monitor your progress against team objectives and communicate transparently with your team and Technology Manager.

Candidate Profile

• Expertise in C# and comprehensive understanding of the .NET ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), familiarity with cloud architecture patterns, and exposure to Kubernetes.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles including data structures, design patterns, object-oriented design, code optimization, microservices, and event-driven distributed systems.
• Practical knowledge of NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or CosmosDB.
• Ability to independently own and carry technical projects through to completion within a workstream.

Location and Reporting

This role operates on a hybrid basis, requiring three days per week at our Berlin office and two days remote work from home. The position reports directly to the Technology Manager.
