Job Overview

Join a leading technology company in Bengaluru as a Scala Developer responsible for designing and building robust software solutions. Ideal candidates will have strong expertise in Scala and functional programming, with a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving approaches.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Hands-on experience with message-oriented middleware such as Kafka, AMQP, MQ, or AMPS.
  • Background in distributed systems architecture and development.
  • Familiarity with web application technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, and Bootstrap.
  • Competence in designing and developing REST APIs.
  • Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS), and event-sourced systems.
  • Exposure to banking middle or back-office industry domains.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python.
  • Knowledge of automated deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Docker.
  • Experience with Scala-specific third-party libraries and frameworks including Scalactic, Scalatra, Akka, RxScala, and TypeLevel libraries.
  • Understanding of Category Theory principles relevant to functional programming.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience working with Scala or other functional programming languages.
  • Practice in writing unit tests and behavioral/acceptance tests.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality code within deadlines.
  • Experience working in agile environments involving pair programming and daily stand-ups.
  • Proven domain knowledge acquired from previous employment experience.
  • Collaborative experience working in teams with shared codebases and continuous integration processes.
  • Willingness to take part in production support rotations.
  • Comfort and experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
