Store Manager Candidate

Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate plays a key role in supporting store functions by assisting with staff supervision, recruitment, inventory oversight, product merchandising, and customer service activities. This position is intended to develop external candidates for eventual promotion to Store Manager and involves managing recruitment, inventory control, cash handling, and maintaining a secure, well-stocked retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Help in recruiting, hiring, and training store personnel.
• Engage in merchandising, restocking, and arranging product displays.
• Oversee inventory tasks including handling damages, markdowns, and maintaining adequate stock levels.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure store safety protocols are followed.
• Support cash management tasks such as cashier accountability and adherence to cash control procedures.
• Assist with store opening and closing duties and analyze operational reports to spot trends and improvement areas.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and within deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

• Capable of understanding safety and operational guidelines, performing basic arithmetic, and operating a cash register.
• Familiarity with inventory management, merchandising practices, cash handling, and safety compliance.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred qualifications include bilingual fluency in Spanish and prior retail experience.

Physical & Work Conditions

• Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing and driving assignments.
• Dynamic work environment with exposure to outdoor weather and moderate noise levels.
• Position involves some travel and demands dedication to safety, adherence to policy, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
