Stocker - Aisle

Position Overview

The Stocker role involves delivering attentive and courteous customer service, replenishing products on shelves, and keeping aisles tidy within the store environment. Reporting to floor supervisors and managers, this non-exempt position focuses on proper merchandise handling and maintenance of a safe, well-organized shopping area.

Primary Duties

• Provide friendly and responsive service to customers.
• Unload boxes from pallets and stock shelves, including opening boxes to place individual items as needed.
• Rotate stock to ensure products remain fresh and unexpired on shelves.
• Arrange and front-face merchandise for optimal store presentation.
• Conduct inspections to comply with HACCP food safety regulations.
• Participate in daily inventory reviews to prevent product shrinkage and damage.
• Verify shelf pricing for accuracy reflecting current market conditions.
• Maintain cleanliness of aisles and storage areas by regularly scrubbing and removing pallets for thorough cleaning underneath.
• Continuously monitor the floor for safety hazards, promptly addressing spills and removing debris such as plastic wrap, ties, and wood scraps.
• Report low or out-of-stock items to supervisors without delay.

Required Qualifications

• Effective communication skills to interact with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Basic proficiency in reading and arithmetic.

Physical Demands

• Steel-toed boots are mandatory.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds from ground to 60 inches high, frequently throughout the shift.
• Overhead lifting capacity of 50 pounds.
• Capable of pushing or pulling forces up to 500 pounds horizontally.
• Demonstrate agility, fine motor skills, and manual dexterity at 80-100% capacity.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously, with occasional bending, kneeling, climbing, and twisting movements.

Working Conditions

• Work environment includes moderate temperatures extending to refrigerated and freezer sections, with temperature variations near open doors and receiving areas influenced by outdoor weather.
• Presence of moving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scooters requires attentiveness to safety.
