Overview

The porter role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the warehouse environment of Jetro Restaurant Depot in Memphis, TN. This position involves routine cleaning tasks, adherence to sanitation protocols, and assistance with general facility upkeep to ensure a safe and welcoming area for both employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping of interior and exterior areas of the building.
• Clean and maintain all restroom facilities.
• Clean windows, doors, and coffee stations as needed.
• Manage all trash receptacles across the premises.
• Operate equipment such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when required.
• Swiftly clean warehouse spills to prevent hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness in the employee break room according to schedule.
• Support department managers with aisle cleaning tasks.
• Verify all HACCP guidelines and sanitation logs daily as per company procedures.
• Complete minor maintenance and other duties assigned by branch management, including paint touch-ups and lighting maintenance.

Requirements

• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation practices.
• Familiarity with operating floor machines, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
