Role Summary

The PDI Foreman acts as the key liaison between customers, sales teams, PDI/service operations, administration, and OEM components. This role ensures vehicles undergo thorough inspection, preparation, documentation, and delivery aligned with quality standards and schedules. Responsibilities encompass managing the entire Pre-Delivery Inspection process, closing job cards timely, identifying and resolving abnormalities, maintaining delivery records, and reporting daily vehicle statuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely and quality completion of PDI tasks adhering to company and OEM standards.
  • Manage PDI job cards by ensuring system accuracy, prompt closure, and monitoring part usage.
  • Detect, document, follow up on, and resolve vehicle issues before delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Service, Administration, and OEM teams to prepare vehicles ready for delivery as promised.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of PDI, arrival inspections, and delivery documentation.
  • Track and report vehicle delivery progress daily to management.
  • Pursue resolution of vehicles pending delivery, including registration and other requirements to optimize delivery efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automobile dealership sector.
  • At least 3 years in a technical capacity, ideally with buses or commercial vehicles.
  • Background in service operations, PDI processes, workshop coordination, or vehicle delivery operations.

Team Environment

The role is embedded within the Service team, cooperating with Sales, Administration, PDI/Service Operations, and OEM teams. The fast-paced workplace demands high quality, precision, and timely coordination to meet customer delivery expectations and satisfaction.

Essential Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive dealership, distribution, workshop, and PDI procedures.
  • Technical expertise in diesel engines, common rail technology, powertrain/driveline, electrical systems, air conditioning, and spare parts.
  • Familiarity with warranty policies, service protocols, complaint/fault/repair codes, and parts usage.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, SAP, CRM, or DBM software systems.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Customer-oriented with resilience under pressure and adeptness in managing delivery commitments.
  • Proactive with a strong sense of accountability, ownership, and keen attention to detail.
