Munitions Quality Control Specialist

Role Overview

The Munitions Quality Control Specialist audits and monitors munitions department operations to ensure adherence to all explosive handling processes, internal quality control practices, training effectiveness, and full compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role also serves as the primary liaison for all weapons safety issues and requirements, using systems such as the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) to document inspections, maintaining conformity with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and the Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct random quality inspections across munitions inspection, receiving, shipping, storage, accountability, procurement, and transportation processes to verify compliance with explosives regulations, technical directives, and contractual obligations.
• Perform in-process and final product inspections relating to accountability, storage, transportation, and shipping functions.
• Monitor workshop practices for housekeeping and safety compliance in explosive and industrial environments; identify and report discrepancies and emerging negative trends for corrective management action.
• Inspect outbound munitions shipments, including validation through photography.
• Carry out random inspections of tools, shop equipment, safety gear, and protective clothing.
• Conduct spot checks on material requisitions, storage systems, and parts tracking procedures.
• Review production schedules, work orders, and historical records to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Assess technical order files and Air Force standards for relevance and completeness.
• Evaluate work methods and facilities for adherence to ISO 9001 standards and weapons safety requirements.
• Coordinate annual reviews of procedural documentation and emergency action checklists for accuracy and currency.
• Collaborate with other teams and the PSO to standardize procedures across departments.
• Support the development and delivery of departmental training programs, including assisting with on-the-job training and compliance auditing of training records.
• Manage all weapons safety related issues in coordination with the Weapons Safety Office.
• Execute spot checks on explosive operations to verify compliance with safety and technical standards.
• Maintain records of all waivers, exemptions, and deviations from safety standards; advise leadership of any risks resulting from these exceptions.
• Conduct risk assessments on weapons safety violations and provide reports to site management recommending corrective actions.
• Stay informed of base activities that impact weapons safety protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management for maintenance, storage, equipment, weapon modifications, test programs, and personnel training.
• Perform other duties as assigned, working in office, shop, warehouse, or occasionally outdoor settings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in personal computers including Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Intermediate understanding of USAF supply and technical order systems or equivalent military service systems.
• Working knowledge of Management Information Systems relevant to Precision Guided Munitions activities.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment as required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license from home country and ability to acquire a host nation driver's license.
• High School diploma or equivalent credential.
• At least seven years of experience with USAF military munitions or equivalent service experience.
• Minimum of five years combined supervisory experience in USAF munitions activities and material handling equipment operations.
• Eligibility as a Senior Munitions Inspector as per AFMAN 21-200 standards.
• Capability to attend the USAF Munitions Inspector Course.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is required due to clearance demands.
• Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per procedures and task requirements.
• Physically able to perform job demands including lifting/pushing/pulling a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Normal color vision and depth perception required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control, and inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with TICMS, MC2, TMRS, and IMDS/DPAS Maintenance and Usage for Munitions and Material Handling Equipment.
• At least two years’ experience as a USAF Munitions Inspector and award of Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Code 836.
• Prior Weapons Safety Manager experience with minimum two years tenure.
• Experience operating diverse material handling equipment, including intermediate forklift and tractor-trailer operation skills.
• Completion of a CCAF degree in Munitions Management favored.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation includes an hourly wage plus housing and transportation allowances. The final pay will be determined by factors such as education, skills, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions.

Additional Information

This position is located in the Doha Metropolitan Area and requires full-time onsite presence. The work environment involves offices, maintenance shops, warehouses, and occasional outdoor duties.
