Role Overview
We invite applications for the position of Facilities and Services Manager within the Faculty of Engineering and Design. The successful candidate will oversee the facilities team responsible for ensuring functional and effective spaces for the faculty's academic and administrative departments. This role serves as the key contact with Campus Environment to guarantee adequate maintenance, cleaning, access control, space planning, and minor capital projects are delivered. Additionally, the position entails ensuring compliance with health and safety, containment, sustainability, and environmental standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and guide the Facilities team to achieve its objectives.
- Implement operational strategies and plans for Facilities and Services.
- Coordinate and manage Minor Capital Works projects within the faculty.
- Collaborate with Property Services regarding space planning initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with other Facilities and Services Managers and departments university-wide.
- Oversee and monitor service delivery across all Facilities and Services functions.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least five years of experience in operational or facilities roles with demonstrated leadership of small teams.
- Proven capability in ensuring health and safety compliance within a working environment.
- Familiarity with reporting systems, administrative processes, and general information systems.
- Experience in team development, managing change effectively, and fostering cooperative work cultures.
Successful candidates will be proactive self-starters with strong interpersonal skills, adept at stakeholder engagement, and able to perform well within complex and ambiguous frameworks.
