Job description

Overview

Join our dynamic team at the Letterkenny location as a Cable Material Handler, playing a crucial role in facilitating efficient production workflows by managing the movement and storage of cable and electrical materials integral to manufacturing processes.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee live production activities to guarantee constant availability of raw materials such as cables and electrical components on the production floor.
  • Ensure prompt delivery of cables to both Fabrication and Production Stores to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Manage accurate handling, receiving, documentation, storage, identification, and distribution of electrical materials, cables, and their components, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for any damages or shortages prior to unloading and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Maintain correct storage practices, proper labeling, and organized arrangement of materials with complete traceability for all dispatched items.
  • Keep the working area clean, safe, and orderly to support a high standard of workplace safety and efficiency.
  • Facilitate timely material transfers among stores, production, fabrication, and assembly teams to support production schedules.
  • Mentor and assist junior colleagues by identifying training needs and escalating as required.
  • Support and actively engage with VOS (Vertiv Operating System) principles and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, security measures, risk assessments, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
  • Hands-on experience in handling cables, electrical materials, or related components within manufacturing, electrical, or industrial environments.
  • Understanding of different cable types, their identification, storage needs, and general material handling best practices.
  • Mandatory possession of a Counterbalance Forklift license.
  • Familiarity with workshop tools, operational methods, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • A positive, organized, and enthusiastic attitude with dedication to delivering high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
  • A clean disciplinary record.
