Role Overview
We are seeking an Application Packaging Engineer based in Bengaluru with 4 to 10 years of experience, specializing in managing full lifecycle packaging and deployment of enterprise Windows applications. This critical role supports smooth software delivery through collaboration with infrastructure, application development, and release teams, emphasizing automation and modern endpoint management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Windows application packages for enterprise environments.
- Perform packaging tasks using MSI, EXE, and MSP technologies.
- Manage application releases and oversee deployment coordination across various environments.
- Design and improve PowerShell scripts to automate packaging and deployment operations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to application installation, upgrading, and removal.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, and support teams for flawless software distribution.
- Integrate and maintain CI/CD pipelines within packaging and release processes.
- Conduct validation, compatibility assessments, and quality assurance on packages.
- Document packaging procedures, operational guidelines, and deployment standards.
- Drive continuous enhancements to increase deployment reliability and efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- 4-10 years of progressive experience in Windows application packaging and release management.
- Deep practical knowledge of MSI, EXE, and MSP packaging tools and methodologies.
- At least 2 years of proficiency in scripting with PowerShell.
- Familiar with software distribution workflows and application deployment strategies.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
- Experienced in troubleshooting packaging and deployment issues.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and communication capabilities.
- Adept at collaborating in dynamic, team-oriented environments.
- Academic qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
