Job Overview
This position entails planned and cost-effective execution of all assigned tasks to enhance safety, quality, and reliability at production plants. The engineer will prepare scopes of work for key rotating machines such as turbines and compressors based on site data and inspection feedback, along with preparing budget estimates for materials and services required. Collaboration with maintenance, technical, facility teams, contractors, and departments like HSE and logistics is critical to maintain an updated turnaround master plan.
Core Accountabilities
- Oversee execution strategies for turnaround scopes concerning rotating machinery involving detailed scheduling, resource alignment, and stakeholder communication to ensure timely task completion.
- Liaise with various stakeholders to coordinate seamless execution, prioritize tasks, address arising challenges, and implement recovery plans if delays occur.
- Track and manage turnaround progress using schedules, KPIs, and trend analyses to identify deviations and enforce corrective actions.
- Continuously revise schedules to incorporate emergent or unexpected work during turnaround events, ensuring thorough assessment and proper approvals for all changes.
- Confirm all prerequisites—including materials, workforce, equipment, permits—are ready before execution phases commence.
- Assist in mechanical completion processes, addressing punch list items and verifying pre-start-up readiness to ensure safe and effective operations start.
- Maintain open communication lines among teams to facilitate progress monitoring, problem resolution, and schedule management.
- Document turnaround milestones meticulously and report progress regularly in preparation for major turnaround activities.
- Manage comprehensive documentation related to turnaround—worklists, execution plans, risk assessments, schedules, and closure reports.
- Ensure centralized and orderly record-keeping of all turnaround data for traceability and future reference needs.
- Identify, track, and work to resolve risks, issues, and actions promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Contribute to enhancing team competencies in turnaround planning techniques, scheduling software, and industry best practices.
- Administer accurate creation, updates, and maintenance of SAP master data linked to turnaround preventive maintenance—including task lists, maintenance plans, and equipment data.
- Detect and fix inconsistencies or duplications in SAP data to improve the dependability of planning results.
- Support integration efforts between SAP master data and scheduling tools like Primavera to align project schedules and resource allocations.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
- At least five years of direct experience in similar roles, preferably within fertilizer manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of rotating machinery, including steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, gearboxes, and their auxiliary and static equipment within compressor houses.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
