Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing production Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and oversee Oracle database systems across various environments.
  • Design and manage database structures such as schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects.
  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations to safeguard data.
  • Continuously monitor database performance and perform tuning to optimize efficiency.
  • Lead large-scale database upgrades and integrate migrations between differing operating systems.
  • Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage and monitor databases effectively.
  • Apply Oracle patches, perform upgrades, and conduct restoration processes when needed.
  • Identify and resolve database and operating system level problems promptly.
  • Create and maintain Shell scripts to automate routine DBA tasks and improve productivity.

Required Technical Skills

  • 10 to 15 years of robust experience working as a Production Oracle DBA.
  • In-depth proficiency with Oracle versions 12c and 19c.
  • Strong expertise with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Recovery Manager (RMAN).
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL tuning, including utilizing tools like AWR, ASH, and ADDM for performance analysis.
  • Expertise in interpreting execution plans and troubleshooting slow or complex SQL queries.
  • Experience using database monitoring tools and creating comprehensive DBA policies and documentation.
  • Proven track record in executing database migrations across multiple operating systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Oracle database security features and parameters.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate including installation, monitoring, and tuning.
  • Familiarity with managing Exadata environments.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure components such as ExaCS and DBaaS.
  • Expertise in implementing Database Vault, Audit Vault, Database Firewall, and using Encryption Wallets.
  • Proficient with Solaris operating system and strong Unix/Linux troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to develop Shell scripts for automation purposes.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA).
  • Experience managing Oracle SuperCluster environments.
  • Possession of Oracle certifications.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
