Job description

Role Overview

The National Operations Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing national coordination, governance of scheduling, and workforce mobilization across the National Observing Operations (NOO) segment. This role ensures that operational resources, capabilities, logistical support, and scheduling are effectively synchronized to bolster maintenance work, capital projects, and strategic initiatives within the Bureau's observation networks.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves establishing and sustaining a consistent, nationwide resource planning and scheduling framework for NOO. This includes ensuring that maintenance functions, capital investment projects, deployment tasks, workforce availability, operational priorities, and stakeholder needs are all properly aligned.

It provides overarching national supervision over workforce allocation and field deployment planning, actively seeking ways to enhance efficiency through coordinated travel arrangements, shared logistics, combined maintenance tasks across multiple networks, and strategic allocation of resources.

In the coming 3 to 4 years, a significant priority will include supporting the AWS Replacement Program. This task involves coordinating the installation of new equipment at over 700 sites scattered across Australia, Antarctica, and offshore territories. The coordinator acts as the crucial communication link between project teams and operational maintenance centers, ensuring workforce preparation, integrated scheduling, logistics organization, training readiness, and smooth operational transitions.
