Job description

Role overview

The Depot Team supports delivery operations by keeping material flows efficient, dependable, and secure. This role is focused on maintaining tight operational control across both indoor and outdoor activities, following established procedures and upholding a high standard of store security.

Key responsibilities

  • Safeguard stock and maintain the security of store facilities.
  • Handle the movement of materials into and out of storage areas.
  • Apply store procedures and regulatory requirements consistently.
  • Manage bulk issue materials accurately.
  • Use computer systems, forklifts, and other store-handling equipment as part of day-to-day work.
  • Open and close the depot each day.
  • Keep stock records accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards across the depot.

Essential experience and qualifications

A Leaving Certificate or equivalent practical work experience is required. The position also calls for confidence using information technology, an understanding of store operations, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different staff groups to deliver a reliable storekeeping service.

Desirable qualifications

  • Forklift licence.
  • Manual handling certificate.

Location and reporting line

The role is based at Portlaoise Depot in County Laois, Ireland. The successful candidate will report to the Materials Services Supervisor.

Salary

The annual salary range for this position is €33,000 to €40,000.
