Job description

Overview

An established recruitment partner is working with a fast-scaling startup that is becoming a leader in its sector. The business is expanding its engineering function and is looking for a Software Engineer to help build modern, reliable platforms used by customers around the world.

You will join a product-led team in a fast-paced environment where engineers have meaningful influence over both the product direction and the technical approach. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving problems end to end and building systems that can scale.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and support backend systems that can grow with the platform.
  • Build and maintain APIs and services using TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Help deliver new product features across the platform.
  • Work with engineers and other stakeholders to produce robust, high-quality solutions.
  • Own technical challenges from the initial idea through to implementation and release.
  • Promote good practices in coding, testing, and system architecture.
  • Provide support and guidance to other engineers on the team.

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in software development and brings strong backend engineering skills. Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, Express, or Next.js is important, along with hands-on work building RESTful APIs.

You should also have a solid understanding of scalable system design, performance considerations, and clean coding standards. Experience working in Agile teams, plus familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and collaborative delivery practices, will be valuable.

Benefits

  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Share options
  • Generous paid time off, including your birthday off
  • Improved parental leave support
  • Learning and development budget
  • Private healthcare cover
  • Pension scheme
