Role Summary

This is a full-time Machine Learning Specialist position based in Kaduna, with a hybrid work setup that allows part of the week to be worked remotely. The selected professional will build, refine, and maintain machine learning and deep learning models that support the company’s products and internal workflows. The role combines data preparation, model development, validation, performance review, deployment support, and collaboration with engineering and product teams.

Key Duties

In this role, you will work with data from collection through preprocessing, choose suitable algorithms, train and test models, and measure results using statistical and quantitative approaches. You will help integrate models into production environments, keep track of how they perform after deployment, and make improvements as needed. The position also includes documenting methods and solutions, researching new tools and techniques, supporting data governance practices, and taking part in code reviews and technical conversations.

Qualifications and Technical Background

The ideal candidate should have a strong grounding in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and standard software development practices. Practical experience with machine learning, model assessment, and deploying ML solutions is important, as is hands-on exposure to deep learning frameworks and neural-network-based systems for more advanced use cases. A good understanding of statistics for analysis, hypothesis testing, and performance measurement is also expected. Applicants should be comfortable using programming languages commonly applied in machine learning, especially Python, along with libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Additional Requirements

The role suits someone who can thrive in a hybrid work environment, manage time well, and work effectively with cross-functional teams. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required. Experience with cloud platforms, Git-based version control, and MLOps or deployment tooling will be considered an added advantage.
