Job description

About the Company

Index Analytics, LLC is a fast-expanding small business headquartered in Baltimore that delivers health-focused consulting services to the federal government. The organization emphasizes a supportive, team-oriented workplace and invests in employee growth through career advancement and learning opportunities.

Role Summary

The Junior Full Stack Developer will create, enhance, and support cloud-based web applications across the user interface, server-side logic, and database layers. You will partner with senior engineers and other teams to build reliable, scalable solutions in a collaborative environment.

This position is suited to someone with a solid grounding in full stack development who is eager to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and deepen technical expertise over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and support features across frontend, backend, and database components.
  • Participate in the full software delivery cycle, from requirements gathering and design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Work with senior engineers to understand system design, development standards, and engineering best practices while gradually owning more application components.
  • Create and connect RESTful APIs for application and system integrations.
  • Develop frontend elements using modern tools such as Angular and TypeScript, with attention to usability and accessibility.
  • Implement data access logic for relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Aurora.
  • Deploy and maintain applications in AWS environments using established patterns and practices.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code work, including AWS CDK, and related system configuration tasks.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and fix issues in development and production environments.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote teammates using strong communication practices to improve code quality, performance, and development workflows.
  • Follow CMS security, privacy, and DevSecOps requirements, including secure coding standards and required documentation.

Eligibility and Requirements

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or otherwise authorized to work in the United States, must have lived in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years, and must be able to obtain a federal client badge and pass a Public Trust clearance.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience, which may include internships, academic projects, or professional work.

Applicants should have experience with Python, SQL-based relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and building web applications across both frontend and backend layers. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, modern application architecture, cloud platforms (especially AWS), and team-based or Agile development is expected.

Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills are also important.

This role includes occasional mandatory travel to the office for onsite work, ranging from a single day to several consecutive days depending on operational needs.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Angular and TypeScript, AWS services such as S3, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch, CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK will be an advantage.
