Junior Electrical Engineer

About the role

This position is a contract assignment with Corteva Agri Science in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The role is based in an industrial, plant, and R&D laboratory setting and may require shift work, emergency support, and field troubleshooting. Immediate joining is expected.

What you will do

• Carry out electrical installation work for machines, panels, motors, drives, and instrumentation in line with drawings and applicable standards.
• Install, terminate, test, and commission LT panels, MCCs, control panels, and related field equipment.
• Follow electrical safety requirements, local statutory rules, and internal company standards at all times.
• Observe PLC-driven control systems used across different platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Delta, and Mitsubishi, as applicable.
• Support basic troubleshooting for PLC issues, including I/O faults, communication problems, interlocks, alarms, and field wiring checks.
• Assist automation engineers with PLC program changes, backups, and supporting documentation.
• Track HMI and SCADA systems, and respond to alarms and process abnormalities.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Identify and resolve faults in motors, VFDs, sensors, actuators, solenoid valves, and control circuits.
• Reduce downtime by carrying out quick root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Help maintain high uptime for critical production and R&D equipment.

Working conditions

• Industrial / plant / R&D laboratory environment.
• May involve shift duties, on-call emergency support, and hands-on field troubleshooting.

Eligibility and experience

Candidates must have at least 1 year of relevant experience to be considered.

Compensation and perks

The annual salary offered for this role is INR 4,00,000 to 5,00,000. Additional benefit provided: cab/transportation facility.

Additional requirements

• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and panel wiring.
• Practical experience with PLC monitoring and basic fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Exposure to VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and safety circuits.
• Sound knowledge of electrical safety practices and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Good analytical ability and the capacity to respond quickly to breakdowns.
• Working knowledge of Electrical AutoCAD.
• Clear communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work in shifts or on call if required.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.
