Job description
About the company
Foxtons is a major London estate agency with a reputation for using technology, data, and analytics to improve decision-making across the business. Its Business Analytics function is central to this approach, delivering reporting, insight, and analytical tools that support commercial results, customer experience, and day-to-day operational efficiency.
Role overview
Foxtons is hiring a Junior Data Analyst to join its Business Analytics team. This entry-level position is suited to a graduate or early-career analyst who already has practical exposure to Power BI through work, an internship, a placement, a personal project, or an online course. The role will mainly focus on Power BI development, maintaining and enhancing existing reporting, handling report updates, and helping internal users understand and use data effectively. There may also be opportunities to work with SQL and Python where relevant.
What you will do
In this role, you will support the ongoing development, upkeep, and improvement of reporting used across the business. Your work will help teams access clear, reliable, and useful information.
- Create, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports used by different teams.
- Take ownership of reporting updates by collecting requirements, implementing changes, testing results, and documenting what has been updated.
- Support stakeholders by explaining reports, highlighting important metrics, and presenting data in a practical and easy-to-understand way.
- Improve report quality so outputs are accurate, visually clear, easy to use, and aligned with business needs.
- Use SQL to query, extract, and verify data from databases, with guidance from more experienced team members.
- Apply Python where useful for analysis, automation, or data preparation tasks.
- Work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to define reporting needs, clarify KPIs, and improve how data is used.
- Help maintain data quality and governance by spotting issues, validating outputs, and supporting trust in reporting data.
What the team is looking for
This is an entry-level opportunity, so the team is not expecting mastery. They are looking for someone with strong potential, curiosity, and a genuine interest in reporting and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, gained through study, projects, internships, work experience, or a portfolio.
- Basic understanding of DAX, including measures, calculated columns, and metric creation.
- An interest in dashboard design and creating reporting that is simple, clear, and user-friendly.
- Working familiarity with SQL, including joins, filters, and aggregations.
- Some exposure to Python, especially for analysis or automation, is helpful but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on accurate, consistent reporting.
- An analytical approach to problem-solving and turning data into practical insight.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity about AI and automation tools such as Copilot and how they can improve productivity.
- A proactive attitude, openness to feedback, and a willingness to keep learning in a fast-moving environment.
Working style
This is a hybrid position, giving you the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. That said, the role is expected to suit someone who values being in the office, learning face to face, and building strong working relationships with stakeholders. Because this is an early-career role, time in the office will be important for training, collaboration, and understanding how the business uses data.
What you can expect
- Competitive pay of £35,000 depending on experience.
- Hybrid working with some home-based flexibility and regular office collaboration.
- 25 days of annual leave plus one fully paid day each year to volunteer for a charity of your choice.
- Access to mentorship, training, and development opportunities in Power BI, SQL, Python, and business analytics.
- Work that directly influences decisions across one of London’s most recognised property brands.
- A modern, forward-looking analytics environment using current tools and technologies.
- Exposure to an Azure-based data platform, cloud technologies, and scalable reporting solutions.
- Employee-led diversity and inclusion networks and initiatives.
- Enhanced sick pay, a confidential counselling helpline, Mental Health First Aiders, and subsidised gym membership.
- Enhanced parental leave policies, including generous shared parental leave.
- Company events, property-service discounts, and a lively team culture.
Additional information
This role is based in the London area, United Kingdom. The position is full-time and primarily office-based with hybrid flexibility. The listed salary is £35,000 depending on experience. No vacancy count, start date, or application deadline was specified.
