Job description
About the opportunity
This freelance part-time remote role is for an experienced full-stack web application developer who can help create browser-based products in a hybrid AI plus human workflow. You will support the Tendem project by building interactive applications that include genuine business logic, state handling, persistence, and user-driven features. The work is suited to professionals who can take features from idea to release and are comfortable contributing across the frontend, backend, database, and API layers.
About the company and platform
The Mindrift platform brings together subject-matter specialists and AI-driven projects from leading technology innovators. Its broader mission is to help unlock the value of generative AI by connecting real-world expertise from professionals around the world. In this role, you will work as an AI Pilot, collaborating with Tendem Agents that manage repetitive tasks while you provide engineering direction, technical judgment, and quality assurance.
What you will work on
You may build a range of browser-based products such as habit trackers, budgeting tools, internal dashboards, mini-SaaS products, and AI-enabled applications. The role can also involve standalone Python utilities and data-processing scripts that support or sit behind these tools.
Key responsibilities
- Create interactive web apps using a modern frontend stack such as React, Next.js, Vue, or an equivalent framework, together with a backend API built in Python or Node.js.
- Plan and implement data models, database schemas, and storage layers using SQL or NoSQL systems.
- Set up authentication, session handling, and simple role-based permissions when the product requires them.
- Connect third-party APIs and AI/LLM services into product features.
- Manage application state, input validation, loading states, and error handling in a clear and user-friendly way.
- Develop standalone Python scripts and lightweight tools for tasks such as data processing, API integration, or backend support.
- Review AI-produced full-stack code and improve it for reliability, security, speed, and maintainability.
- Write clean, testable code and troubleshoot issues that span the frontend, backend, and database.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in full-stack web development or in shipping interactive web applications.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or another related technical discipline is an advantage.
- Strong overall grounding in full-stack development, modern frontend frameworks, backend architecture, and end-to-end browser app delivery.
- Ability to work confidently across frontend, backend, database, and API layers, and to turn AI-assisted output into production-ready software.
- Strong problem-solving ability, close attention to detail, and the capability to independently design and ship complete features.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one current frontend framework.
- Solid backend experience with Python and/or Node.js frameworks.
- Practical experience with relational databases and basic schema design.
- Experience building REST APIs, validation flows, authentication flows, and error handling.
- Comfort using deployment platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway, or similar services.
- Experience working with LLM APIs or other AI services is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable using Git and applying basic testing practices.
- Portfolio showing shipped web applications.
- English level of upper-intermediate B2 or higher.
Work expectations
The expected time commitment is around 10 to 20 hours per week during active phases of the project. This is only an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, and it applies only while the project is active.
Compensation
Contributors can earn up to the hourly equivalent of USD 60, depending on level and pace of contribution. Pay can vary by project based on scope, complexity, and expertise required.
Why this opportunity may suit you
- Work remotely and manage your own schedule with only a laptop and reliable internet access.
- Build practical experience in a collaborative environment where human specialists and AI agents work together.
- Access performance-based bonus programs that recognize strong quality and consistent delivery.
