Job description
About the role
One Stop is hiring a Customer Service Assistant for its Bath store. This position sits within a busy retail setting where priorities can change quickly from one task to the next. You will support the store’s day-to-day running by delivering strong customer service, replenishing stock, handling payments, and helping the store stay clean, safe, and presentable.
The role is customer-led, so you’ll be expected to look for practical ways to improve the shopping experience, use coaching and feedback to keep developing, and help maintain a welcoming environment for both colleagues and shoppers.
What you’ll do
- Serve customers with a friendly, confident approach and aim to deliver natural, high-quality service.
- Encourage shoppers to share feedback through the store survey process.
- Work across different parts of the store, including online orders, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines, to make sure customer needs are met.
- Apply the training provided to carry out duties safely and correctly.
- Support seasonal activities, local community initiatives, and charity events to help build an inclusive atmosphere.
- Understand store performance and the part you play in helping the store achieve profit goals.
- Represent the company’s values, make people feel welcome, and follow store policies at all times.
- Clock in and out at the beginning and end of shifts so hours are recorded accurately for pay.
- Keep yourself, colleagues, and customers safe by following security procedures and using safety equipment where provided.
- Follow age-check procedures carefully when selling restricted products.
- Respond promptly to help requests and interventions at self-service checkouts, while clearly explaining actions to customers.
- Work neatly and efficiently so aisles remain clear and the store stays organised.
- At certain times, take responsibility for running the shift when the Shift Leader or Store Manager is unavailable.
- Follow all training and procedures to help keep the store, colleagues, and customers safe and compliant.
- If the store includes a Post Office Local, the role will also cover daily post office operations and require a financial and criminal conviction background check; a failure to pass these checks will result in the offer being withdrawn.

The company aims to create a welcoming place for customers and colleagues alike and is keen to hear from people who want to join a growing team.
Flexible working
Flexible working conversations are welcomed. The company understands that people’s circumstances vary, whether they are early in their careers, balancing caring responsibilities, approaching retirement, adapting to parenthood, or managing other life changes.
