Job description
About the organisation
AA New Zealand has been supporting New Zealanders for more than 120 years and is now one of the country’s most trusted and recognised brands. What began as a motoring club has developed into a large, modern organisation serving over a million members with a wide range of products and services.
The business is currently going through a period of change and growth, with a stronger focus on connection, modern ways of working, and purpose-led outcomes. This creates opportunities to collaborate across teams, build new capabilities, and contribute to meaningful improvement.
Role overview
An experienced Contract Manager is needed to help strengthen and manage commercial partnerships that support the delivery of Mobility products and services. The role covers the full contract lifecycle and involves close coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure services are delivered efficiently, customer expectations are met, and financial and operational objectives are achieved.
What you will do
You will monitor contract performance, identify and manage risks, support negotiations, and look for ways to improve processes and outcomes. A key part of the role is acting as a dependable contact for partners while balancing relationship management, commercial judgement, and problem-solving to keep services compliant, sustainable, and aligned with organisational values and customer needs.
About you
The ideal candidate is commercially minded, confident in building relationships, and experienced in contract management or account management. You should be comfortable working across partner networks and industry practices, and be able to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and handle challenging discussions with professionalism and good judgement.
You will also need a strong analytical approach so you can interpret information, understand risk, and make decisions that support both customer outcomes and business goals. Experience with CRM tools and the Microsoft Office suite is important for reporting and contract administration. A tertiary qualification in a relevant area is preferred, or you should be able to demonstrate equivalent capability through experience.
Benefits and support
- Complimentary AA Membership for you and your family or household
- One paid day off for your birthday
- Two wellbeing leave days each year
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Access to training and career development opportunities
- Discounted insurance
Diversity and recruitment approach
The organisation values diversity and wants people to bring their authentic selves to work. If you need adjustments to take part fairly in the recruitment process, you are encouraged to share those needs.
Applications are reviewed by people rather than automated screening, as the hiring process is intentionally human-led and relationship-focused.
Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed requirement, as potential and fit may still make them a strong match for the role.
Additional information
This position is based in Auckland, New Zealand. The role is full time and onsite, although the company also offers a hybrid working arrangement. No salary details, vacancy count, start date, or closing date were provided.
