Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Toronto supports the agency’s daily public relations and communications work across client accounts. The Communications Coordinator helps prepare and refine press materials, coordinates media outreach, and contributes to the planning and delivery of communication strategies.
The role also includes tracking press coverage, updating media and editorial lists, assisting with campaign reporting, and working with internal teammates on client meetings, presentation materials, and event communications. Strong organization, careful attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several priorities in a fast-moving team environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and polish press materials and related communications content.
- Support media outreach efforts, including journalist pitching and follow-up.
- Help build and execute communications plans for client campaigns.
- Track media coverage and compile campaign performance updates.
- Maintain accurate media contact databases and editorial calendars.
- Assist in preparing materials for client meetings and presentations.
- Coordinate communications support for events, including logistics-related tasks.
- Work closely with team members in a collaborative agency setting.
Qualifications
- Excellent written communication ability, with hands-on experience creating press releases and related copy.
- Background in communications and strategic messaging, with an understanding of brand storytelling.
- Exposure to media relations work, including outreach to journalists and upkeep of contact lists.
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Comfort using everyday office and communication tools such as email, presentation software, and shared documents; experience with PR or media-monitoring tools is a plus.
- Interest in or familiarity with the fashion, beauty, travel, and lifestyle sectors is an advantage.
- Post-secondary study in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on site in Toronto and build professional relationships with clients, media contacts, and colleagues.
