Job description
About Samba
Samba is a media intelligence business that helps brands understand what audiences are watching, reading, and thinking about in real time across every screen. Its insights are built from consent-based data covering more than one billion people, giving companies a highly detailed view of consumer attention. Major global brands rely on this intelligence to make sharper commercial decisions.
This role is a strong opportunity for an experienced Client Director to build high-value enterprise partnerships from the ground up and help position Samba TV as a leading name in a fast-changing media landscape.
Role overview
Reporting to the VP of Sales, you will drive revenue from Tier 1 brands and engage senior leaders in marketing and media at major advertisers. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in revenue generation within data, advertising technology, or programmatic sales, along with a genuine interest in digital media and innovation.
You will take a consultative approach to selling, developing relationships with both new and existing clients through go-to-market planning, client education, RFP responses, and pipeline development. Success in this role requires analytical thinking, comfort with complex sales cycles, and readiness to travel for meetings and industry events when required.
Key responsibilities
- Build and grow strategic relationships with senior marketing leaders, brand managers, and media planning stakeholders at Tier 1 brands, making Samba TV a trusted partner in their media and measurement strategy.
- Deliver annual revenue goals by bringing in new brands and growing existing accounts through structured account planning across priority verticals.
- Surpass sales targets through consultative selling, complex deal negotiation, accurate CRM forecasting, and consistent quarter-on-quarter growth from both new business and expansion.
- Run client business reviews and planning sessions, understand client goals and challenges, and create integrated, data-led presentations that show strong market knowledge.
- Act as a subject-matter expert for your verticals, representing Samba TV through client communication, events, webinars, and market-facing thought leadership.
- Manage long, multi-stakeholder sales processes across marketing, media, insights, and data teams, building relationships that support annual partnerships and long-term growth.
- Work closely with Product, Data & Measurement Science, Account Management, and Marketing teams to support client outcomes, create case studies and performance reporting, and share client feedback that informs product development.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in data, adtech, or programmatic sales, with a proven history of consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets and closing complex deals involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong success selling to Tier 1 brands and managing the complete sales process from prospecting to negotiation and close; existing connections at leading brands and agencies are preferred.
- Good understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, including display, video, mobile, CTV, and programmatic channels, as well as measurement, attribution, and data analytics.
- Solid knowledge of client planning and marketing planning cycles, together with awareness of privacy regulations and how they affect advertising and measurement.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities across all levels of an organisation, with a consultative style and a focus on building value-led partnerships.
- Strategic and commercially minded, with strong problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and the drive to continuously develop personally.
- Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while being open to travel and working across time zones as needed.
