A reputable and expanding residential developer-builder located in Canberra is seeking a Project Manager to oversee townhouse and medium-density residential development projects. Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable for guiding projects from initial concept design all the way through to completion and handover. This role involves close collaboration with consultants, regulatory authorities, site personnel, and various stakeholders to ensure projects meet planned outcomes, secure necessary approvals, and are successfully delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee projects through stages including planning, approvals, procurement, and construction phases.
- Coordinate with consultants and design teams to guarantee documentation accuracy, coherence, and constructability.
- Lead the development of project schedules and monitor key milestones.
- Manage authority approvals, coordinate utilities, and supervise pre-construction activities.
- Evaluate designs to assess buildability, staging feasibility, and value engineering possibilities.
- Track budgets, oversee procurement tasks, and monitor overall project performance.
- Provide support to Site Managers and on-site delivery teams during construction phases.
- Manage project risks, maintain stakeholder relationships, and fulfill reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Prior experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, Contract Administrator, or Site Manager within residential construction.
- Background with townhouse, medium-density, apartment, or residential building projects.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Capability to coordinate consultants, secure approvals, and handle project documentation.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, project controls, and procurement processes.
- Possession of a degree, diploma, trade qualification in construction, or equivalent practical experience.
- Highly motivated, well-organized, and committed to developing a sustained career in project management and delivery.
