Help at Home is actively seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide essential care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their homes and communities in Hickory Flat, MS. Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized one-on-one support focused on promoting independence
- Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, cleaning, personal hygiene, and transportation
- Encourage and facilitate involvement in social and community engagements like shopping and social gatherings
- Assist clients in setting and achieving personal goals and celebrate their achievements
- Advocate for client choice, independence, and self-empowerment
- Maintain precise records of care provided, activities conducted, and progress attained
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality, consistent support
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age of 18 years
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification
- Successful completion of background checks and mandated training
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation with proof of insurance (primary or secondary)
- Ability to work respectfully and safely within client homes and community settings
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to making a positive community impact
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Familiarity with Individual Activity Support Plans (ASP) and Plans of Service and Supports (PSS)
- Knowledge of basic behavior support techniques, including redirection, visual cues, and environmental adjustments
