Job description

Position Overview

The Certificate Processor role involves handling issuance of both new and renewal insurance certificates, primarily supporting commercial lines clients. This position requires collecting, reviewing, and compiling essential information to provide outstanding service and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue new and renewal certificates for commercial insurance clients.
  • Deliver customer service by responding to certificate of insurance requests from insured parties.
  • Analyze and interpret insurance data to verify compliance with policy standards.
  • Use agency management software (Applied Epic), spreadsheets, and word processing tools to retrieve insurance details and generate certificates.
  • Review insurance contracts to identify certificate types and required details.
  • Communicate proactively with Account Managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
  • Prepare and print insurance documentation and coordinate mailing logistics.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years insurance industry experience necessary; commercial lines exposure preferred.
  • Capable of electronically entering, transcribing, and maintaining data accurately.
  • Skilled at assessing information relative to established standards.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in high-volume settings.
  • Valid General Lines or Property & Casualty insurance license necessary; company support provided for license acquisition as needed.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Applied Epic is preferred; familiarity with any similar Account Management System is acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of CSR24 system is advantageous.

Physical Demands

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent use of vision to review documents and computer displays.
  • Regular requirement to hear and speak clearly for telephone and face-to-face communication.
  • Continuous hand movements involving keyboarding, writing, and numeric keypad use.
  • Mobility involving walking, bending, sitting, reaching, and stretching in various directions.
