Job description

About the Role

Kindred seeks dedicated and dependable cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness in an educational building located in Bristol. This position is vital to ensuring a safe, inviting, and hygienic environment across classrooms, toilets, and communal spaces, fostering well-being and a positive atmosphere for all occupants.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Sanitize surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately.
  • Replenish consumables like soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
  • Conduct occasional deep cleaning activities such as carpet cleaning and floor polishing using proper materials.
  • Operate cleaning machinery safely and store equipment correctly post-use.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including safe handling of chemicals per COSHH regulations.
  • Report hazards, maintenance issues, or damages promptly to maintain site safety.
  • Complete tasks both independently and in support of colleagues to uphold high cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain polite and respectful interactions with staff, service users, and visitors, reflecting Kindred’s professional and inclusive values.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the cleaning role, with reasonable adjustments if necessary.
  • Capability to follow instructions accurately, including written guidance, and work safely and autonomously for extended periods.
  • Manage workload efficiently to complete cleaning tasks within stipulated timeframes.
  • Communicate effectively in English; fluency as a first language is not mandatory.
  • Availability for fixed shift schedules from Monday to Friday.
  • Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Additional Information

  • Hourly pay rate: £12.71.
  • Work location: Yeo Valley & Rural Outreach Children's Centre, Bristol BS49 5DX.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
