FuturePro Logistics Group is a well-established and proactive e-commerce logistics provider focused on fulfilment, warehousing, and outsourced supply chain management. The Global Forwarding division is a recent addition, created to meet increasing customer demands for international freight forwarding services.
Role Overview
As a Multimodal Freight Forwarding Operator, you will be responsible for coordinating import and export shipments via air, road, and sea routes. Your duties will encompass all stages from initial quotation and booking through to delivery and the processing of final shipping documentation. Collaboration with various stakeholders including customers, carriers, shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, customs agents, warehouses, and overseas partners is essential to deliver cost-efficient and timely transport solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create competitive freight quotes based on customer needs, delivery timelines, and cost considerations.
- Negotiate freight rates with air, road, and ocean transport providers.
- Arrange shipment bookings, collections, deliveries, and multimodal transfers.
- Oversee shipments throughout their lifecycle from booking to final delivery.
- Maintain solid customer relationships and provide timely shipment updates.
- Prepare and verify shipping documents such as CMRs, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Coordinate customs clearance procedures and adhere to aviation security regulations as required.
- Monitor shipments, proactively addressing delays, disruptions, or exceptions.
- Resolve any operational issues including claims, damages, shortages, and delivery discrepancies.
- Track and manage freight expenses, including demurrage and detention charges.
- Communicate with accounts regarding invoicing and resolve queries.
- Accurately maintain shipment records and update internal ERP systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Prior experience working in a multimodal freight forwarding environment.
- Experience managing import and export shipments.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail coupled with effective organizational abilities.
- Sound knowledge of freight forwarding documents including CMR, Bills of Lading, and Air Waybills.
- Understanding of Incoterms and international trade regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience across air, road, and ocean freight modalities.
- Familiarity with MultiFreight software or similar freight forwarding platforms.
- Exposure to customs clearance processes.
- Proven skills in obtaining freight rates and preparing quotations.
- Experience using freight forwarding ERP systems.
