Base Operations Executive

Role Overview

The Base Operations Executive manages daily activities within the base, emphasizing security oversight. This role ensures smooth handling of equipment and personnel inside the yard, upholding strict safety, security, and regulatory standards. Coordination with internal departments and external vendors is essential to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. The executive also manages operational duties related to warehouse and outdoor storage, covering receipt, storage, packaging, sea fastening, transportation, and product distribution.

Responsibilities

• Supervise receiving, inspection, and forwarding of items in warehouse and outdoor storage areas.
• Verify the quality and quantity of inbound products and update responsible buyers on any discrepancies.
• Ensure secure storage of products at their assigned locations.
• Maintain records of dispatched and received products in Yellowstar, InforLN, and other applicable systems; guarantee documentation is timely and accurate.
• Track PPE stock levels in the warehouse; report any discrepancies promptly to the Base Operations Manager.
• Confirm goods are packaged per agreed standards prior to dispatch and oversee safe loading/unloading of transportation equipment and containers.
• Formulate and enforce security policies to protect the base, vessels, and personnel.
• Oversee routine maintenance and repairs for yard and warehouse facilities.
• Support logistics coordination for projects and vessels operating in the region.
• Ensure statutory certificates for yard equipment, buildings, and warehouses are renewed on time.
• Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and manage waste programs.
• Act as the main contact for tenants, supervise company drivers, undertake driving duties when necessary, assist in procurement processes, and keep abreast of industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or similar; certifications in security management or sustainability are advantageous.
• Possession of a Class 3 driving license and forklift license is mandatory.
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in yard, warehouse, and logistics operations, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of logistics concepts, inventory control, transport planning, and security procedures.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities to motivate a team effectively.
• Proficient problem-solving and decision-making skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant software tools; strong attention to detail and responsibility.
