About the Role
Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited invites candidates to join its Branch Operations team as a Teller in the May Pen branch, Clarendon. This position offers an opportunity to grow within a stable and expanding financial services company by providing professional and precise banking transactions to clients. The role requires a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience and proactively resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the bank's various products and services.
- Promote and cross-sell bank products and services to existing clients to foster referrals.
- Accurately verify and handle client deposits from the Main Line and Quick Deposit Box.
- Market the bank's offerings actively and enhance client engagement.
- Manage purchase and remittance of excess or unfit cash to the vault teller as needed.
- Complete transactions including RTGS, Wire Transfers, and ACH payments.
- Facilitate Foreign Exchange transactions efficiently.
- Issue and redeem drafts and managers cheques.
- Handle non-cash transactions such as funds transfers and fee reversals.
- Encash travellers’ cheques and process credit card and bill payments.
- Carry out custodial responsibilities related to vault, treasury, and ABM operations.
- Prepare and verify cash shipments to the Cash Processing Unit.
- Collect surplus cash from other tellers as required.
- Balance and image cheques for outward clearing and ensure documentation is properly scanned and filed.
- Reconcile transactions processed against cheque clearing and suspense accounts.
- Dispatch processed work to the Verification Unit and drafts/managers cheque to the Centralized Recon Unit.
- Support the verification of negotiable instruments and ensure compliance with TTRs, STRs, and UTRs guidelines.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Familiarity with Teller operations and POCA regulations is advantageous.
- Proficient in using computer software including spreadsheets and word processing tools.
- Thorough understanding of Client Experience Standards.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong time management.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High integrity, honesty, and strong problem-solving aptitude.
