Job description
Overview
This role is dedicated to managing and operating the company's cloud and digital infrastructure platforms by utilizing hands-on provisioning, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and observability. The objective is to maintain stable, secure, and reproducible environments that support resilient application delivery and operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provision and manage cloud and on-premises infrastructure following approved design patterns and IaC templates, covering resources, networks, storage, and platforms.
- Deploy and verify development, testing, staging, and production environments using repeatable pipelines to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and IaC modules to streamline processes, enhance repeatability, and enable self-service provisioning.
- Create automated operational processes such as configuration drift corrections, automated patching, and self-healing mechanisms to reduce manual workload and accelerate recovery.
- Implement monitoring solutions, including metrics, logs, and tracing, develop dashboards and set alerting thresholds for proactive issue detection and troubleshooting.
- Conduct performance tuning of compute, storage, and network components; assist with capacity planning and right-sizing resources.
- Apply security hardening, patch management, backup, and disaster recovery procedures to comply with security standards and resilience requirements.
- Support disaster recovery tests and backup validations; design resilient deployments incorporating multi-availability zones and failover strategies.
- Serve as a key escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents by diagnosing root causes, delivering fixes or workarounds, and documenting comprehensive root cause analyses.
- Engage collaboratively with application teams, integration owners, and vendors to address cross-platform faults and prevent recurrence.
- Provide regular operational reports to management detailing deployments, incidents, risks, and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation such as runbooks, configuration baselines, deployment manuals, and change logs; contribute to team knowledge bases and onboarding materials.
- Ensure daily activities comply with company policies and processes, and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement focused on cost efficiency, productivity, and up-to-date best practices.
