Role Overview
The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will be tasked with developing, deploying, and refining machine learning models that underpin AI71’s advanced AI solutions. This role requires collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to convert business problems into effective AI-driven products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, train, and deploy predictive machine learning models to elevate the functionality of AI offerings.
- Utilize state-of-the-art AI methods including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) within practical business contexts.
- Work alongside business stakeholders to grasp goals and translate them into executable machine learning workflows.
- Monitor model performance and iteratively optimize algorithms in line with changing business needs and real-world data.
- Design and maintain reliable data preprocessing pipelines to assure high-quality and consistent input data for modeling purposes.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possession of a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or closely related discipline.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in AI, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Data Science, or a similar field.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and expertise in parameter-efficient fine-tuning methodologies such as LoRA and QLoRA.
- Proficiency in Python programming, with preference given to candidates having a competitive coding background (e.g., ACM/ICPC, NOI/IOI, Top Coder, Kaggle).
- Experience developing and deploying LLM-powered applications using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask, with front-end implementations in Streamlit, along with a robust understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, websockets, and API management.
- Strong working knowledge of machine learning libraries/frameworks including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and specialized tools such as Langchain, Langgraph, and LlamaIndex.
- Experience managing databases including SQL and NoSQL systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) as well as vector databases like Pinecone, Weaviate, and pgvector for both structured data and semantic search functionalities.
- Proven track record of applying data science and machine learning techniques effectively to solve critical, real-world business challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management and decision-making, with dedication to fostering diverse and inclusive engineering teams.
Additional Information
This position is located in Abu Dhabi and candidates must be willing to relocate; full relocation assistance will be provided. Note that this is not a remote role and requires presence onsite.
