Overview
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is recruiting an Analytics Solution Officer to join its Group Information Systems Directorate, located at the headquarters in Luxembourg. This full-time, permanent position (grade 5) requires regular presence at the Luxembourg office and offers relocation support. As part of the Data Management Division’s Analytics & Reporting Unit, the role focuses on governing, administering, and strategically evolving the EIB Group’s Power BI and Microsoft Fabric platforms to establish a secure, scalable, and high-performance analytics ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee governance, administration, and continuous improvement of the Power BI and Microsoft Fabric platforms ensuring security, scalability, operational excellence, and resilience.
- Develop and enforce enterprise-wide governance frameworks, standards, and operating models covering platform security, semantic models, workspaces, and self-service analytics.
- Administer tenant-level settings, platform capacities, configurations, and access controls for efficient, secure platform management.
- Optimize platform performance by monitoring resource utilization, workload consumption, and system health to deliver reliable analytics services.
- Lead performance incident investigations and enhancements across reports, semantic models, capacities, and workloads to assure user experience consistency.
- Drive strategic adoption and evolution of Microsoft Fabric by defining governance and implementation best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including business units, data and technology teams, enterprise architects, and senior management to align platform capabilities with business priorities.
- Maintain awareness of the latest Microsoft analytics ecosystem developments and advise on adoption where applicable.
- Ensure comprehensive governance, risk management, compliance, documentation, and operational procedures supporting platform administration.
- Support operational continuity through proactive monitoring, incident resolution, change management coordination, and service continuity planning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, IT, Information Management, Computer Science, Economics/Finance, or related fields.
- At least five years of professional experience in enterprise analytics or data platform environments with significant hands-on responsibility for platform governance and administration.
- Extensive practical experience managing enterprise-scale Power BI environments including tenant and workspace administration, security, capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and support.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or related Microsoft analytics technologies involving platform implementation, governance, or administration in live environments.
- Expertise in governance frameworks, operating models, and enterprise best practices for reporting and self-service analytics.
- Technical knowledge of Power BI architecture including semantic models, deployment pipelines, storage modes (Import, DirectQuery, Live Connection, Direct Lake), and performance tuning.
- Proven skills in monitoring and resolving complex platform performance and capacity issues.
- Experience managing analytics platforms supporting multiple business areas and large user bases.
- Project coordination experience involving diverse stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of data warehousing principles, dimensional modeling, and modern analytics architectures.
- Familiarity with other analytics platforms such as Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or SAP Analytics Cloud is advantageous.
- Ability to perform effectively in a multicultural, international setting.
- Fluency in English and/or French with good working knowledge of the other language; proficiency in both languages is important for career progression.
Additional Information
The role reports directly to the Head of Unit within the Analytics and Reporting Unit, the EIB Group’s center of excellence for analytics and reporting technology governance and adoption. The recruitment process includes panel interviews scheduled for October 2026. The campaign remains open until the position is filled and applications are reviewed as received.
